This particular oil is distilled from the dormant buds of the blackcurrant plant ( Ribes nigrum L ) before fruiting.

The product is used to reinforce and modify natural or artificial blackcurrant flavours. It is also used in perfumery.

The oil contains many terpenes an important one of which is "Hardwickic acid". This is not shown.
